Mothman Casebook: Special Report: West Virginia’s Enigmatic “Bird” (6)

John adds three pages of additional notes to his article “Special Report: West Virginia’s Enigmatic ‘Bird.'” A couple of notes: the “Charles” addressed in the last note was Charles Bowen, the editor of Flying Saucer Review. That note also reveals that Marcella Bennett’s daughter Tina (or Teena) seemed to be remembering a past life. As Teena, she’s mentioned in Chapter 8 of The Mothman Prophecies.

  1. There are always new details that I didn’t know:

    • I wasn’t aware that Keel had heard the poltergeist’s noises. http://sunsationalhomeimprovement.com/tag/planters/ “I have heard both the footsteps on the roof and the pan-dropping phenomenon during my travels and investigations.” It’s like when he admitted to Brad Steiger that he saw the Men in Black in his apartment.

    • The perfect 20 foot in diameter circle of flattened grass with a crushed German shepherd in the middle and no blood. I wish somebody had taken a picture. Keel does mention in The Mothman Prophecies a charred dog found surrounded by an unburned area. Also a dead dog by the side of the road that wasn’t there when the witness drove by again minutes later.

    • Little Tina Bennett —Kristina— remembering a past life. That’s the little two-year-old girl dropped by Marcella Bennett when she saw Mothman in 1966. She must be 58 or 59 today. I wonder what she remembers.

  2. What a dynamic and adventurous time for the author–if only a properly-realized movie could be made of it. Nowadays, it seems, the “UFO source,” as JAK called it, has lost interest–or overshadowed by our sometimes equally-bizarre political phenomena.
