I hadn’t heard of a connection between salt and grays before, although Jaye Paro reported that the entities she claimed to know ate great amounts of it. This is one place where the folklore of aliens and fairies diverges: fairies are supposedly repelled by salt.
Funny thing about the “sodium chloride” entry, as it relates to a recent bit of internet-based ET madness. Back in early 2021, a Reddit post from 2013 was uncovered from an alleged abductee that was notable in the abductee’s assertion that the alien entities would reveal themselves in 2021. Remember, this was hot on the heels of the Pentagon releasing and acknowledging those UAP videos at the end of 2020. Obviously, in John Keel’s time as in ours, nothing came of this prediction, but the abductee’s remarks about the entities he met had two truly interesting details–that the UFOnauts (the classic “grays”) enjoyed bluegrass music out of all of Earth’s music, and that would always offer the abductee a bowl of SALT as a gesture of thanks for submitting their examinations and questions. This was given to him so often that he came to believe the UFOnauts considered salt either a great prize for humans, or something they themselves held in high regard.

Salt is indeed prized by humans! It certainly plays an important part in folklore. One of the more curious stories is that fairies and leprechauns are compelled to count every grain of it. Maybe someone should try that with a gray.
