I just remembered that, according to legend, fairies could not eat salt. Was this salt consumption supposed to signal something? Thanks for the interesting stuff. This blog is one of my “must reads”.

Demons and witches were also supposed to be afraid of salt. There’s a lot of folklore about both salt and sulfur; that was the kind of detail that kept John intrigued.
