Special Cases – The Long Island File (35): A Letter to the Lorenzens

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:31 pm

where can you buy disulfiram John writes another letter in the midst of all this, to the ufologists Jim and Coral Lorenzen. He compliments them on their recent book, Flying Saucer Occupants, and fills them in on his continuing research. He’s apparently taking many of Jaye Paro’s stories quite seriously at this point. Newcomers to this continuing saga should remember that his views changed in later years. But here, in the midst of it, he’s sure he’s onto an important story.

Special Cases – The Long Island File (34): What Is Gladys Doing?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:53 pm

As July 1967 continues, John reports on some of the strange activity around another contactee, Gladys Fusaro. He makes a couple of hoax calls to her; I’m not sure why. Jaye Paro records a tape in which she apparently channels one of her alien contacts, Agar. And Gray Barker chimes in with an odd story as well.

It was not until 1981 that there was an assassination attempt on the Pope. The shooter was Turkish (although the attempt took place in Vatican City); and the Vatican revealed in 2000 that the Third Secret of Fatima did indeed prophecy the Pope’s assassination. More, of course, for John to puzzle over.

Special Cases – The Long Island File (33): A Letter to Jim Moseley

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:23 pm

John pauses in the morass of hoaxes, misinformation, and weirdness to write a letter to Jim Moseley. He sends him a copy of his notes on the “Gray Barker” hoax, and adds some info on calls from a certain “Samuel Guttenpoole.” I suspect these may have have been Barker as well, but who knows? “Gladys” is Gladys Fusaro, another contactee.

Special Cases – The Long Island File (32): Mysterious Messages

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:08 pm

We continue with John’s raw research notes from 1967. Since Jaye Paro’s contacts had predicted the Pope’s assassination, he clipped a news story on the Pope’s travels. He notes “two mysterious messages” from “the soft-spoken girl,” and another report from Paro. He also wrote a letter detailing some of the phone hoaxes and threats, in case he came to harm. It was addressed “To whom it may concern”; I don’t know if he mailed it to anyone, or simply put it where it could be found. All of this was obviously getting to him.

Special Cases – The Long Island File (31): More Strange Calls and Another Letter

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:56 pm

We’re still in July 1967; John notes more strange phone calls, both to Jaye Paro and himself. He also makes another attempt to contact Paro’s aliens, or at least to find out if they exist, with a bold plan for a public UFO display.

Special Cases – The Long Island File (30): The “Gray Barker” Hoax

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:16 pm

As John was trying to figure out what Jaye Paro was up to, he was contending with hoaxes from his fellow researchers. He noted this strange phone call from Gray Barker, or at least someone who sounded like him. Frank Edwards had died June 23. A contactee had told Barker that a famous ufologist would die soon, and much was made of this at the UFO convention John and Gray attended that weekend.

Special Cases – The Long Island File (29): A Letter to the Entities

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:15 pm

John’s daily onslaught of strangeness continues, with Jaye Paro reporting more prophecies, coded messages, another pregnant alien (A’NA-H), and her discussion with Apol on where to buy seafood. John writes a letter for Jaye to pass on to the entities, asking for proof of their existence.

Special Cases – The Long Island File (28): Egads, What a Mess!

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:53 pm

As the summer of 1967 continues, John receives more bizarre stories from Jaye Paro, including more about the pregnant Lia and some information about a missing psychiatrist. He also hears that another contactee, Gladys Fusaro (whose stories he found even more dubious) passed along a nonsensical message he had given her. (I’m not sure what that is; possibly a verse from Revelation he gave her on June 18). To further confuse matters, he got a call from a “Mrs. Gray Baker.” As he notes, his fellow ufologist was Gray Barker, not Baker, and was unmarried.

Special Cases – The Long Island File (27): A Letter from Agar

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:53 pm

On the same day that John had his odd indirect phone conversation with Jaye Paro and Agar, Agar sent him the following letter. I Googled a few phrases, and found that much of it is taken from the books of Job and Esther, in the Douay-Rheims translation, a popular version for Catholics. Phrases are sometimes misquoted or garbled. Oddly, Agar’s claim that Esther 9:7 says that the 13th day of the 12th month is called Agar is wrong; Esther 9:1, however, says that the day is called Adar.

Daniel 11:40 is (and I may as well use the Douay-Rheims): And at the time prefixed the king of the south shall fight against him, and the king of the north shall come against him like a tempest, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with a great navy, and he shall enter into the countries, and shall destroy, and pass through.

For those unacquainted with Agar, she was supposedly an alien in contact with a radio personality in Long Island named Jaye Paro. John was not convinced she was real, but did hear another voice during the phone call mentioned above.
