That’s a bit harsh, I think. My guess is that John wrote it in the late ’60s, probably hoping to sell it as a magazine article or a small book, meant for a general audience. He never finished it, so we’ll never know how it would have turned out. I find it useful to see John define his terms, although some terms are certainly more interesting than others.
