John reports on a curious subset of MIB reports, imposters in military uniforms, and discusses the reactions of Colonel George Freeman of Project Bluebook and the experiences of two UFO photographers, Rex Heflin and Joe Perry.
I cross checked John Keel’s information as provided in his books and in two cases confirmed that a real officer of that name existed. And both of the officers were in AFOSI which in recent years has been exposed as being a center for deliberate UFO related disinformation.

This is one aspect of UFO weirdness that has always fascinated me. Keel was one of the few that didn’t just fall into the “it’s-the-government-silencing-us” camp. I find the story of mystery men, posing as government agents, showing up to seize materials as interesting as the story of the UFO’s themselves.

John used to say that the main thing the government wanted to keep secret was how much money it wasted. The stories of mystery men, as well as purported government disinformation, have only become more complicated since 1967.

it was only after descriptions of the alleged military reps came in that John started to question whether they were genuine…long hair, pointed chins and all the rest…most people back then tended to trust/believe a military ID card waved in front of their face
