JOHN KEEL: NOT AN AUTHORITY ON ANYTHING

A Letter to Gray Barker

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:16 pm

The following letter appeared in Gray Barker’s Newsletter #5, March 1976.  John is rather rough on Jacques Vallee, but has many interesting things to say about the state of ufology.  I’ve included the preceding letter, since Ray Palmer’s thoughts on Fred Crisman may interest many of you.  I haven’t seen Gene Duplantier’s portrait of John; but if I find it, I’ll add it here.

  1. Thanks for this. I had come to a similar conclusion as John Keel before ever reading his books. I was SO glad to read them because then I didn’t feel so alone. It was clear to me that the UFO/alien phenomenon was – for lack of a better term – a paranormal phenomenon, though of course, that doesn’t mean there isn’t some variably physical reality to it the same way there is to such things as apports and ectoplasms.
