Puno We continue with John Keel’s file on the harassment of ufologists; here’s more of his outline on unusual and intimidating mail.  An example of one of his letters from the “International Bankers” is here; a paste-up letter is here.

  1. There’s something supremely creepy about even the idea of having your mail tampered with…naturally. I often have wondered who could have done some of the more bizarre stuff Keel experienced—the really weird things, like accessing mail from a mailbox, etc.

  2. Creepy, indeed! His daily life became very odd in the late ’60s, when he was being inundated with this stuff.

  5. Well, had John lived longer he would have thought himself much, much less paranoid in retrospect!

What we now know (which still likely could only be the tip of a very large iceberg) of NSA stateside activity, well, is seems that John vastly underestimated both agency capability, motive and will.
I’m glad he didn’t live to see the revelations. I think he witnessed enough “official” disappointments for one lifetime.
They don’t sort out and record surveillance targeted return address and destination addresses at the USPS, anymore.
The digital photograph and scan BOTH sides of EVERY single letter or package. All of it. For your safety, of course.
    Neat, huh?
