This is good stuff. One of the things that I’m realizing: Keel paid attention to everything. Occurrences that others just wrote off with a shrug, he investigated. He saw and realized the patterns in the “little stuff”. Thanks for continuing this website.

Hi, Doug. Here’s a weird one: I have tried to comment on the Soldier of Fortune article 5 times–none have gone through. I gave up. The attempts were made over several days at different times. No joy. But enough of my blurry paranoia. These latest texts are simply mesmerizing. Keel truly did pay attention to everything, and we’re better–if no more intelligent–for it.

Doug, I’ve been wondering whether any of the audio recordings Keel made or collected in the course of his investigations have survived, and if so, are there any plans of having it digitally transferred for future posts? Thanks!

John left audio tapes of his interviews and lectures, but I haven’t seen any tapes of investigations. But if any turn up, I’ll let you know. I’d love to hear them myself.

Keel referenced HAM radio broadcasts of strange phenomena in his books and articles. I’m particularly interested if he managed to obtain any of the recordings he was shown by operators. I work for a full recording studio and could help with the transfer process if needed if any of his recorded materials shows up.

If I remember correctly (and I’m sure someone will tell me if I don’t), John wrote about the shortwave number stations. I haven’t found any recordings in his archives, but a 4-CD set of those puzzling broadcasts was released a few years ago as “The Conet Project.” Reissues and downloads seem to pop up and vanish from time to time, so you could try looking for it. (I’ve only heard excerpts, myself.)

Yeah, I discovered the Conet Project years ago. Nothing very paranormal about numbers stations. What I’m really interested in is the anomalous broadcasts mentioned occurring in UFO flap windows and eye witness testimony to experiences.

John mentioned “hundreds” of accounts of this type of mail and telephone tampering. any idea what the numbers actually were and how the reports got to him?

No idea. The accounts probably came from his own interviews of witnesses and contactees, although some may have come from other researchers.

Numbers stations are good stuff. I’ve heard some pretty weird stuff on SW radio, that’s for sure.
These letters are absolutely fascinating. Greatly supliment the books. If you found and digitized audio of investigations and other items of interest, I’m pretty sure I’d pee a little. This is awesome.
