Heyyy! I still have a copy of this. Phil Lord did a fantastic job with the cover; I basically sketched it out in pencil. but Phil did the final inking. Anyway, it looks 100% better than the original, and I oughtta know.

Nice to hear from you, Chris! I plan to post all of the NYFS newsletters, as well as John’s index card notes for the meetings. I figure they should be available for those of us interested in the history of forteana.

(Just looking through the scans again) I was at the meeting with Michael Grosso, and I remember that we were plagued by some sort of Fortean schenanigans. A couple of the welded metal chairs we were sitting in came unwelded and deposited Michael Grosso and Jim Moseley onto the floor. It must have been embarrassing for Michael, because he was sitting down just after receiving a standing ovation. Of course we theorized that the Men in Black must have gotten into the TRS Suite ahead of time and worked their mischief…

About the NYCFS meetings: I brought my cassette recorder to several of the meetings, and I know I have a recording of Whitley Strieber’s presentation around here somewhere. I’ll let you know when I find it.

Actually JM seemed to have enjoyed his experience– as he picked himself up off the floor he was laughing in surprise, and as he turned back to me (I was sitting behind him) he said, “Did you see that?”
(Still looking for the cassette; I know it’s around here somewhere. I kind of enjoyed Whitley’s references to the Visitors as “be-bopping” into his room!)
