What I find striking about this’s grave digger Kenneth Duncan clearly saw something resembling a “brown man” or “human being” “gliding through the trees”.
The reporter though determined to maintain the insect theme says of “the brown human” he “buzzed” past.
The reporter’s apparent agenda doesn’t necessarily discredit the ‘moth’ being reported by other witnesses but rather reminds me just as some people’re able to see things supposedly not there (in the way bees see ultraviolet which’s invisible to humans) a rarer group of individuals’re able to see under the ‘disguises’ such appparitions often seem to be.
In which case Kenneth Duncan may’ve been seeing a form of the notorious “negro” figure the Devil was often reported as taking the form of during witches sabbats or the exotic looking dark hispanic/asiatic/arabian types many men in black’re reported as resembling.
Duncan’s “gliding” “brown man”‘s also clearly an ‘ancestor’ of the floating humanoids witnessed in South American skies.

It’s also interesting that the reporter rejects the bird explanation, which other journalists were promoting.
