Special Cases – The Long Island File (5): Miss Xeno and the Pills

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:29 pm

We pick up the story later the same day. Jaye Paro has another encounter with “Miss Xeno,” as John dubbed her.

Sulfa tablets are antimicrobial, and contain synthetic sulfonamides. They’re not straight sulfur. John kept some from one of his contactees, which I posted a picture of here.

  1. Sulfa is commonly prescribed for bladder infections–it’s almost a specific for bladders, because is concentrates there. Taking sulfa without lots of water would not make sulfuric acid (H2SO4) in the stomach. Stomach acid is largely hydrochloric acid (HCl). Sulfa can damage your bladder if you don’t flush it out with plenty of water.

Between this and the iodine matter, I wonder if Ms. Paro had skin problems–severe acne, etc.?

  4. I’m just wildly speculating here, but do Xeno and Apol seem like time travelers? They are ethnically mixed, have perfect teeth, wear clothes of materials that don’t yet exist, have phone technology that existed but was extremely expensive and hard to find, speak perfect English but have no idea of American idiom, etc. They seem like people from the future.
