This was an unfair letter to write. Hes not only been taken in the with the hoaxing, he has become one of the hoaxers himself. . Hes playing a game. Pretty breezY ending to a letter no doubt scaring mrs hyre. Youre going to break down on a deserted highway, you will be stalked by phone….. oh and btw, heres what everyones saying about ME! This is what one part of me thinks. The other says John reported ufo sightings at Pt Pleasant, some of which were with mrs hyre. Were they for real? Ive never doubted his reporting before. Are his sightings faked, tainted with the whole jaye paro fiasco? It was happening at the same time.
I think John can be accused of being too credulous, but not hoaxing. Mary Hyre already had some unsettling visitors, and he wanted to reassure her that they’re creepy, but not dangerous. As for the rumors, that was part of a continuing discussion he had with her about what was happening in the UFO community. I think John’s sightings were genuine (and Mary Hyre reported many of her own). These were all of lights in the sky, not solid craft.
